The Visible and Invisible Monster
A Memoir, by Mary Sue Miller
She lived with panic attacks and fear for almost twenty years before discovering they were linked to a trauma she survived as a teenager.
Mary’s compelling memoir tells the story of finding that connection, step by step… and the life-changing discovery that true healing begins when we stop feeling alone.
Mary Sue Miller brings us:
A story that can help us better understand ourselves, and one another.
A story that reminds us that healing is possible, and no one has to go through it alone.
A story that opens a door to talk about hidden experiences that deserve to be named.
For many years, Mary Miller was held hostage to panic and fear without knowing why. The panic shaped her days, her choices, her relationships… yet she had no name for it.
Almost twenty years after a sexual assault she tried to bury, she learned the truth:
her body had been holding the memory all along.
Mary shares her journey in a straightforward, honest voice. She shows how trauma lives and grows in silence, and how understanding it can open the first door toward healing.
Her story will speak to anyone who has ever feared their past will keep them “different” forever, and bring hope for relief.
You are not alone. And your story matters.
